Tool #9

Why do you think it is important to tie the technology to the objective?
It is important for the technology to be linked to the objective because otherwise, what is the point?
Most of us are not tech teachers but of content area--the tech is a bonus
Why should we hold students accountable for the stations/centers?
So that the work actually gets done instead of a bunch of surfing or electronic communication
Visit 2 of the applicable links to interactive websites for your content/grade level. Which sites did you like. How could you use them as stations? How can you hold the students accountable for their time in these stations?
Thinkfinity was good because of all the resources available to teachers and students alike. The site offers everything from lesson plans and video.audio resources to intereative graphic oraganizers. I
also liked the Flashcards+ app and could see my studnts using it for vocabulary activities. There is a lack of resources available for secondary English and AP USH.
List two to three apps you found for the iPod Touch/iPad that you can use in your classroom. What do you see that station looking like? How can you hold the students accountable for their time in these stations?
See above...I am not sure how many of them work other than on a laptop though since I did not receive an iPad or iPod Touch
What about other ways to use the iPod Touch/iPad? Share another way you can see your students using the device as a station. Perhaps for research and/or info sharing. They cant really use them for composing, data entry etc. Truthfully--though no one asked me, I think laptops are much better suited for classroom use--they have keyboards and are more durable
